Production Infrastructure Architect

What you’ll do:

  • Designing, building and running highly available infrastructure which supports our rapidly growing products.
  • Be a leading member of our engineering teams in supporting the successful delivery of new services, including establishing production requirements, creating build pipelines and implementing the aforementioned efforts in code.
  • Establish, coach, and guide other developers from many teams on best practices for running their applications in production.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support delivery of our services which are available to customers 24/7 and year ‘round.

You will have:

  • Written and maintained production applications at scale in programming languages such as Java, Ruby or Go and understand underlying technologies such as MySQL, RabbitMQ and Redis.
  • Mentored developers to understand the lifecycle of distributed systems including failure modes, edge cases in a cloud environment and antifragile concepts. 
  • Automated cloud environments such as AWS to be highly available in multiple regions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer.
  • Worked in an on-call setting and worked to develop actionable service levels and tracking these with tools such as DataDog, New Relic, ELK Stack or Honeycomb.
